Srinagar, May 11 (KNS) : National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice-president Omar Abdullah on Friday paid glowing tributes to veteran party leader, former MLA Sheikh Muhammad Mansoor of Shopian on his 30th death anniversary.

Dr. Farooq while paying tributes to late Sheikh Mansoor said, “The history of National Conference party is replete with sacrifice and struggle. Sheikh Mansoor Sahib was one of the sons of soil who laid down his life serving the people of Shopian in particular and the state in general. On his anniversary I take the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to him. I pray to Almighty for peace to his soul. His sacrifice and service for that party and the people of the state shall be remembered for all the times to come.”

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Omar Abdullah in his message said, “Late Mansoor sahib laid down his life for the principles of truth, courage and peace. On his death anniversary, I offer him my tributes. His contribution towards the development of Shopian is immense which cannot be summarized in few words.”

Among others additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, provincial president Nasir Aslam wani, Sakina Itoo, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Showkat Hussain, Imran Nabi Dar, Sheikh Rafi also paid glowing tributes to Late Sheikh Mansoor. (KNS)
