Srinagar, 16 February:(KNS)   The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Mr. Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed profound grief over the unfortunate accident resulting in the loss of five precious lives at Raggi Nallah on Batote – Kishtwar highway in Doda District.


In their condolence message, the party president and vice president expressed unison with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal repose to the deceased. The duo while expressing grief over the accident stated that the horrendous accidents in Chenab area have become a norm with little to no attention being paid on the construction and maintenance on the major arterials connecting the undulating and rugged region with the rest of the country.
The duo prayed for peace to the deceased and much needed strength to the bereaved. They also prayed for fast recuperation of the injured. “The need of the hour calls for immediate steps to avoid such accidents from recurring, it is expected that the concerned departments will depute a team to ascertain the causes behind the tragedy. The road infrastructure in the twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar have been left unattended to since long; conditions have deteriorated in the past few years and accidents on these roads have taken several lives,” the duo said and urged the divisional administration of Jammu to ensure best of treatment to the injured child who miraculously survived the crash.

Meanwhile YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar paid a visit to 90 feet Soura to express unison with the grief stricken family of Project Engineer Basharat Ahmed Dar who lost his life in a flash flood induced by glacial burst in Uttarakhand. YNC President, who was accompanied by various functionaries, expressed grief over the irreparable loss of the family and prayed for fortitude to them.
 
“I have come here to express heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the party president and vice president.  The party is in solidarity with the family in their hour of grief. I pray for peace to the deceased and much needed strength to the bereaved to bear the inconsolable loss,” Salman said while interacting with the bereaved. Later he visited Khanyar to express condolences to Peer Hussain Qadri on the demise of his wife. (KNS)
