Srinagar, October 14:(KNS) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President, Member of Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mr. Omar Abdullah on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the demise of prominent Socio-religious figure, Party’s Senior Vice President, District Ramban and Imam-o-Khateeb Jamia Masjid Ramsoo Mirwaiz Ata Muhammad Katoch.

While condoling the demise of Katoch Sahib Party President said, “Mirwaiz Ata Muhammad Sahib was highly endowed and boasted a penchant for Islamic learning. The people of Ramban have been very fortunate enough to have such an erudite and scholarly person amidst them; he had devoted his entire life for the edification of numerous scholars, students and acquainted thousands of others with various facets of Quran and Hadith. I pay my earnest tributes to the great luminary, I pray for the highest echelons to him in Jannah. I express my unison with the bereaved family and his followers,” he said.

Party Vice President in his condolence message prayed for peace to the deceased and much needed strength to the deceased to bear the irreparable loss. “I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Mirwaiz Ata Muhammad Katoch Sahib, a known socio-religious figure in Ramban. His demise has created a vacuum, which will be difficult to fill for a long time. I pay my earnest homage to him and pray to Almighty to bestow him with highest stations in Jannah. I also express solidarity with the bereaved family members and followers of his,”he said.

Among others Party General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, District President Ramban Sajad Shaheen, and Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also expressed grief over the demise of party’s senior Vice President District Ramban Mirwaiz Ata Muhammad Katoch, prayed for peace to his soul, fortitude to his family to bear the irreparable loss.

Meanwhile Party President and Vice President expressed grief over the passing away of Sheikh Nazir Uri, a long term associate of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. Party GS Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Muhammad Shafi Uri, North Zone President , MP Baramulla Muhammad Akbar Lone have also condoled the demise of Sheikh Nazir Uri, prayed for peace to his soul and strength to bereaved.(KNS)
