Budgam, May 19 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai (KAS) today convened a meeting of religious scholars, aimas, mufties of various jamia masajids, dargas located across District Budgam.
While addressing the meeting the DM said, aim of conducting this meeting is to apprise the participants, to kindly adhere the instructions envisaged under lockdown guidelines and ensure that no gathering of any kind shall assemble in any mosques, khankah or eidgah on the occasion of Shab-e-qadr, Jumat-ul-vida & Eid-up-fitr. He said these steps have been taken to control the spread of this deadly COVID-19 disease. As Aimas are respected citizens all over, they shall impart guidance and ensure that people abide by all norms & maintain social distance.
During the interaction many aimas put forth some issues relating to clarification of guidelines and the steps/ measures to be taken during ensuing auspicious days of Shabe-Qadar, Jummah-tul-vidah and Eid-ul-fitr. All ulmas/muftis present during the meeting assured DM of following all guidelines/instructions which came from District Administration.
Mirwaiz of Khansahab Hakeem Mohd Ashraf during the interaction was ensured by DM Budgam that illegal profiteering and hoarding of items shall be controlled and offenders involved in these exercises shall be dealt under law. (KNS)
