Director ULB reviews working of municipal institutions


Srinagar, April 27 (KNS); In order to have feedback/review of the stocks/working of ULBs in combating the COVID 19 Pandemic in ULB’s, Director, Urban Local Bodies Kashmir today held a meeting with the Coordination Committee of Elected Representatives of ULB’s of Kashmir in his office chamber while reviewing the work done by the ULBs in combating COVID-19, it was informed that in all 529 wards falling in 40 ULBs, 5000+ manpower are fighting it along with other frontline workers
As on date 63 Red Zones 103 Quarantines Centers are being managed by Municipal Institutions. Till now approximately 2774 special drives have been done by pressing in 210 big and small machines for which on an average 1630 litres of chemicals per day are consumed.
At present the ULBs are fully stocked with tools/equipment to combat the Pandemic. Besides sterilization of public places like ATMs, Banks, Government Offices, PDS Store/outlets, Ambulance and other inbound and outbound permitted vehicles.
DULBK also installed 35 decontamination chambers at different Medical Colleges/District/Sub District Hospitals across the valley.
While culminating the meeting on spot instructions were issued to all the concerned for strict implementation of SOPs issued by the Government from time to time in COVID 19 management. They were also asked project their future demands with regard to consumable etc. required for COVID management activities. (KNS)
