Srinagar 02 June (KNS): In order to review  the progress achived in different sectors / flagship schemes under implementation in District Shopian  and assessment of COVID-19 control efforts, Director Rural Development Kashmir Mr. Qazi Sarwar here today toured various blocks of district Shopian . The Director was accompanied by  ACD Shopian ,  REW Engineers , other officials   and field staff of the District.
The Director stressed upon execution of Works under various flagship programmes as per sanctioned estimates and their completion within stipulated time lines and as per the latest instructions communicated by the Government. Besides, pursuance to directions of Goverment , it was enjoined upon all the concerned officers to take-up the works in each and every Panchayat of the District , so as to revive the rural economy in view of prevailing situation. The Director visited various work sites and interacted with the labourers registered under MGNREGA. They were advised to follow safety protocols including frequent washing of hands, use of face masks and maintenance of social distancing at work sites.

After the field visit by Director RDD a review meeting was held in mini secretariat Shopian  under the Chairmanship of DDC Shopian  which was  attended by Director RDD ,Concerned Sectoral officers /block level officers /officials of the District where threadbare disscussions held on developmental and other works in the District.
DDC Shopian and Director  RDD were  informed that  number of new works have been taken-up in the District.
  On-spot directions were issued  to the concerned officers for  immediate redressal of peoples grevinces. (KNS)
