Srinagar March 21:(KNS) On the day of “Navroz”, Director Horticulture Kashmir Mr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat,KAS started plantation drive in the premises of Directorate of Horticulture Rajbagh Srinagar. On the occasion the officers as well field staff was present. Director Horticulture directed the Chief Horticulture officers to go for massive plantation of bearing as well as non bearing fruit plants in their jurisdiction. The preference should be given to the premises of colleges, schools, Govt. offices etc. On the occasion Director highlighted the importance of plants in preservation of ecology and environment for the availability of fresh and originated air in the environment The participants took a pledge to not only plant but also nurture and take care of the plants in their surroundings to improve the environment. This habit of plantation will help us to preserve and enrich the environment besides production of various fruit crops for better and healthy life to live in the world. Nowadays crises of the present day environment are to improve the quality of fresh air under the circumstance of huge population density in this universe. Director further added the Department of Horticulture is the front runner as stakeholder to ensure the plantation of fruit trees for the cause of humanity.(KNS)
