Director Fisheries visits Kokernag Fish farm, takes stock of breeding of Rainbow trout fish

Srinagar, Feb 13 (KNS): Director Fisheries Kashmir, Bashir Ahamed Bhat visited kokernag Fisheries Project to take stock of ongoing breeding of Rainbow trout fish vis a vis production of fish seed. 

 Kokernag fisheries project supplies trout fish seed to departmental as well as private units of jammu and Kashmir. 
He sought feedback from the officials of different  trout units regarding breeding season and directed them to gear up for the season, according to the statement issued to KNS.
The trout seed is also being supplied to different states like Arunachal Pradesh,Nagaland ,Uttrakhand and Sikkim thus gives boost to economy of jammu kashmir by promoting Rainbow trout culture in these states.

He also visited various private farms and assured the owners of these farms that department will boost private farms and will support logistically .

Chief project officer, Muzzaffer Bazaz, Deputy Director Kashmir Mohd Ashraf Farzi and Principal Training college Attalullah khan were accompanying Director Fisheries (KNS)
