Srinagar, November 09: Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi took an extensive visit of district Ganderbal. He inspected the various developmental activities under state and central sponsored schemes and saw the impact of technological interventions on ground.
Director emphasized upon the officers to put in force all the professional capabilities and transfer the latest technologies and innovations to the farmers for making agriculture more profitable and glamorous. He stressed for area specific cropping systems for better yield and quality produce.
He instructed the officers for involving young and fresh minds in the agriculture sector and train them regarding the latest techniques, marketing trends, so that they can compete in national agriculture market for earning their livelihood with dignity from this sector.
Andrabi directed chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal to aware farmersn regarding the latest farming trends in all the sub divsions of district for maximum out reach to the farming community.
Later Director took a review meeting of officers and emphasized for taking all necessary steps for doubling the farmers income by 2022.
Earlier chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal apprised Director regarding the crop status and some prestigious projects being implemented in district.
He also informed regarding the progress on farm mechanization taken up
under the aspirational district. During the visit Director distributed machinery / organic fertilizers
among the farmers of Pati Shala bugh adopted under organic vegetable clustern of sub division Ganderbal for the year 2020 which include 5 irrigation pump sets, 38 manually operated carts, 12 tool kits, 10 Knap sack Battery operated, 30 Poly Films, involving total subsidy of Rs.5.00 lacs.
During the visit Director was accompanied by Joint Director Inputs Amir ud Din Andrabi, and other senior officers of the Department.(KNS)
