Dir Horticulture Kashmir took extensive tour of South Kashmir


Srinagar, Oct 09 (KNS): Director Horticulture Kashmir accompanied by concerned Chief Horticulture Officers on Friday visited South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts where harvest season of Apples is going on.
According to reports he passed directions to Horticulture field staff to make the public aware for proper scientific harvesting method. During the visit, Director Horticulture inaugurated Mini Grading Line at Lassipora, Pulwama and Zawoora Shopian.
Director Horticulture Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, informed that practice of grading yields better returns to the growers due to uniformity of fruits. He interacted with fruit growers and discussed various issues. He advised the farmers to ensure proper grading of their produce to fetch remunerative prices. The farmers put forth various issues before the Director and urged for their immediate redressal. He assured to examine and addressing all the genuine issues on priority.
He directed Horticulture Information & Publication Officer to give wide publicity to the event of Buyer-Seller meet on the pattern of Sunday market which is being organized in the premises of Horticulture Complex Rajbagh Srinagar on 11th October 2020, so that maximum numbers of persons participate in the event.

He also stressed for establishment of more number of small CA Stores/Grading Line on the pattern of CA Stores/grading line already established at Lassipora, Pulwama. (KNS)
