Srinagar March 17:(KNS) Director Horticulture Kashmir, Mr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat,KAS today conducted an extensive tour of Pahloo, Gagerbagh and Brain Nishat of District Srinagar. He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture officer Srinagar and other field officers of the Department. Director Horticulture while interacting the orchardists said that Government is committed to facilitate the growers of the area for providing assistance under various developmental schemes to public in general and SC/ST population in particular. He exhorted upon farmers to avail benefits of the schemes and directed the officers to ensure that the benefits of the schemes are being provided to the orchardists. Further instructions like technical guidance to the farmers for addressing the issues, organizing training/awareness camps about the adoption of latest techniques of fruit cultivation. The officers/officials were directed to keep close liaison with the farming community so that they get benefits of all developmental schemes. Later on Director Horticulture visited fruit plant nursery Harwan. Onspot instructions were issued for conducting the time bound operations, proper maintenance of the nursery and sanitation & necessary sprays well in time and proper inputs be given to all nurseries.(KNS)
