Srinagar, September 08 (KNS): For the Police personnel, SPOs and retired police personnel, Jammu and Kashmir Police organization has started a number of welfare measures by introducing different welfare schemes.

According to police statement issued to KNS reads, Continuing these welfare efforts and to provide assistance to families in need, Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police, J&K has sanctioned special relief of Rs.30 lakh in favour of NoKs of six SPOs who died during their engagement with the department.

Rupees five lakh each has also been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of the six deceased SPOs Pawan Singh Pervaiz Ahmed, Bodh Raj, Prem Singh, Vijay Kumar and Muzaffar Ali Dar who expired due to illness during the course of their engagement under different PHQ orders.

It is worthwhile to mention here that SPO Muzaffar Ali Dar attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack on 17.08.2020 at Kreeri Baramulla during the course of his engagement.

Pertinent to mention here that during this year rupees 2.70 crores has been sanctioned in favour of 56 SPOs who sacrificed their lives for the nation or died during their engagement. (KNS)
