DGP J&K sanctions Meritorious Scholarship of about Rs. 9 lakhs for 150 Police Wards

Jammu, June 20 (KNS): Continuing with its endeavour to boost the morale and assist the wards of Police personnel, Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over rupees 5.93 lakh in favour of 97 school going wards of serving police personnel. He also granted scholarship of rupees 3.06 lakh in favour of 53 wards of Police personnel who died while in service due to natural/accidental deaths.
According to police statement issued to KNS reads, Vide Police Headquarters Order rupees seven thousand two hundred each have been sanctioned in favour of nine meritorious wards of police personnel of class 12th who secured 90% and above marks and rupees six thousand each have been sanctioned in favour of eighty-eight meritorious wards of police personnel of class 10th who have secured 80% and above marks during the academic session 2019-20.
The DGP also granted scholarship in favour of 53 school going wards of deceased Police personnel who died while in service due to natural/accidental deaths. These 53 wards of deceased Police personnel are studying in different classes of primary, middle, graduation and post graduation. The scholarship is sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic session 2019-20.
The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of serving/deceased police personnel, police martyrs and SPOs with an aim to boost their morale and inculcate the spirit of competitiveness among the wards of Police personnel and also to provide them financial assistance in pursuing education.
