DGP J sanctions Meritorious Scholarship of over Rs.7.20 lakh


jammu, june 13 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir police chief on Saturday sanctioned 7.20 laks meritorious scholarship to 114 police wards.
According to police statement continuing with its endeavour to boost the morale and assist the wards of Police personnel, Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh sanctioned scholarship of over rupees 5.93 lakh in favour of 97 school going wards of serving police personnel.

Vide Police Headquarters Order rupees seven thousand two hundred each have been sanctioned in favour of nine meritorious wards of police personnel of class 12th who secured 90% and above marks and rupees six thousand each have been sanctioned in favour of eighty-eight meritorious wards of police personnel of class 10th who have secured 80% and above marks during the academic session 2019-20.

The DGP J&K also sanctioned over rupees 1.26 lakh in favour of seventeen wards of deceased Police personnel who died while in service due to natural/ accidental deaths. These seventeen wards of deceased police personnel are studying in different classes of primary, middle, graduation and post-graduation.

The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund and Central Police Education Fund. The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of serving/deceased police personnel and police martyrs to provide them assistance in pursuing education. (KNS)
