Delaying the statehood to J&K will add alienation of the people from mainstream: Gani Vakil

Srinagar 14 january (KNS): Senior Vice President Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference  and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today reminded central government to stay to its promise of restoring statehood in J&K without any further delay and said that it is surprising that the home minister of India is not fulfilling his promise made by him in the parliament last year and not only this even the PM of India has promised statehood to J&K  during his address to the nation in 2019.Statehood to J&K should not be delayed further as it leads to further alienation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir On one side central government  is committed to Statehood to J&K but on the other side LG led administration is changing laws and making amendments which is beyond their mandate.  Decreasing eligibility age for J&K civil services examination is another blow to unemployed youth of the region and abolishing J&K cadre shows clearly that GOI is not sincere to the people of J&K in granting statehood.

In a statement issued to news agency-kashmir news service(KNS), Mr Abdul Gani Vakil was addressing a party convention at Nowpora Kalan Sopore. While addressing the convention  Vakil said that PAGD is an alliance for a Greater cause which is to fight for what has been snatched from us illegally on August 5, 2019. He asserted that PC will leave no stone unturned to fight for restoration of Art 370 and 35 A as it has all along been a bridge between J&K and rest of the country. Abrogation of art 370 was a big political blunder of BJP government as it has distanced the people of J&K from the mainstream which is in  no way  in the interest of nation.

Mr Vakil lambasted both state and central government for not fulfilling its promise to provide employment to the educated youth. No doubt big statements are  issued  for providing jobs to educated youth but till today nothing is seen on the soil and only false promises are made in this regard.

Besides others who addressed the convention include DCC member Smt Parmeet kour Block President Tariq Ahmad Mir and Advocate Rukaya jan who joined PC in the convention(KNS).
