DDC shopian tours various developmental works



Shopian, May 14 (KNS): - District Development Commissioner, Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today tours block Harman Shopian in order to resume works being done under MGNREGA and others schemes to boost rural economy in spite of lockdown period so that people of the area can get benefited by these schemes and the District Administration is always on forefront and hope that the normal life of people can be restored as usual. DDC said that the main aim is that the people of the rural areas especially those who belong to far-flung areas can earn their livelihood with ease.

ACD, BDO and other concerned officers accompanied the DDC.

During the tour DDC said that the Department of rural development meant to create durable assets in the far flung areas and to provide livelihood to the economically weaker sections of the society is increasing man work days under various schemes such as MGNREGA, 14 fc etc .For this purpose the department has constructed a road from Masjid Sharief to Dragud at Chakoora coming up with an estimated cost of rupees 4.87 Lacs and generated Man work days under the scheme and benefited 1700 beneficiaries. The department also under 14fc scheme constructed a culvert with an estimated cost of rupees 2.95 lacs. The developmental works being executed under various schemes of rural development in the District Shopian are for effective and timely compilation for their subsequent benefits to the intending sections of the society. Efforts are being made by the department of rural development for upliftment of weaker sections through special schemes and programs.(KNS)
