Reviews status of Nearing Completion buildings for QCs

Kupwara, May 29 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today visited Kralpora tehsil and inspected sub district Hospital and its under construction new building there. He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Kausar Amin, District Health Officer / District Nodal officer for COVID-19, Dr Abdul Gani Dar, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Hospital premises and took stock of the construction work of sub district Hospital at ground level. He explored the possibilities of developing the building as COVID Hospital, so that the present COVID hospital, housing in the sub district Hospital Kupwara in the main town Kupwara is shifted to new building. He directed the concerned executive agency to speed up and accelerate the construction process and ensure that it is completed within fortnight.
Reviewing the possibilities of space in the Hospital, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that over 60 bed accommodation could be made available in the COVID Hospital, besides, other facilities including laboratory and doctors/ staff room.
It is pertinent mention here that health department took all possible efforts to provide better healthcare facilities across the district.
Earlier, the DDC convened a meeting with concerned officers to review the status of the buildings which are nearing completion to be utilized as quarantine centres in the district.
It was informed that 19 buildings are nearing completion across the district with minor requirements of water & electricity supply, finishing to be done.
The DDC directed executing agencies to coordinate with the Engineers of PDD and PHE to complete the residual works including restoration of power & water supply in these buildings. The DDC directed the concerned to handover the completed projects to parent departments within 15 to 20 days, so that the buildings can be used as quarantine centres in the district.
