Karnah December 22.(KNS): Apni party candidate for Kanah constituency of Karnah , Advocate Najma Hameed, the winner of the DDC election from Karnah area of Kupwara , on Tuesday said she will work for the development and employment generation in her constituency.

Najma, who is advocate by profession, thanked the people who voted for her despite heavy cold conditions

Talking to media persons,Najma said the people of Karnah came out in large numbers despite cold conditions to vote for her.

Najma won by getting 3768 votes while her close rival independent candidate got 2785 votes.

“I am thankful to the people of Karnah who came out in large numbers to vote for me and I assure to the people that I will try my best to prove to their expectations"

Talking to KNS said,that her focus will remain on development and employment generation in her constituency’s far-flung villages apart from electricity, road and water.

“We face great difficulties without a tunnel in our area and in many villages we do not have proper electricity, also the youth have no source to earn a livelihood,” she said, adding that her focus will remain on the development of the area.

In all 54 polling station were established in this hinterland and elections were held in 53 polling stations and there was a election boycott at a polling station in Jabdi area of Karnah (KNS).
