DDC chairs DLRC meet at Kulgam


Srinagar, Jun 26 (KNS): District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam ShowkatAijaz Bhat chaired the District Level Review Committee/ District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting for district Kulgam to review the performance of banks and line departments for the financial year 2019-20 under the ACP besides assessing the achievements made under various government schemes. The meeting was organized after following proper Covid-19 protocol including social distancing.
According to statement issued to KNS, Additional District Development Commissioner, CPO/JD Planning, Lead District Manager (LDM) Kulgam, Cluster Head J&K Bank, DDM NABARD, district officers of line departments, district coordinators of banks and other concerned officials from various government departments attended the meeting organised by J&K Bank’s Kulgam Lead Bank office.
LDM G R Mir informed the gathering that the total deposits of the district have increased from Rs 1588.11 Cr as on March 31, 2019 to Rs 1786.50 Cr on March 31, 2020, witnessing a12.49 pc increase on YoY basis.The advances, he said,have considerably grown from Rs 1180.24 Cr as on March 31, 2019 to Rs 1346.63Crwhile the CD ratio stood comfortable at 75.38 pc, well above the benchmark of 60 pc.
The forum discussed in detail the progress and achievements made by the banks in the implementation of various government sponsored schemes like Kisan Credit Card, NRLM, Housing for All, handloom, MUDRA, SHGs, JLGs, Artisan Credit Card, and Stand-Up India. Besides, loans provided by banks under direct lending mode and digitization was also discussed.
The DDC,while appreciating the role of banks especially J&K Bank for delivering uninterrupted services during the Covid-19 induced lockdown, stressed upon the banks to sensitize the people about various government schemes to increase the credit flow in various sectors of the economy.He underscored the need fora greater coordination between banks and line departments besides directing the concerned to cover the beneficiaries under various social security schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY and ensuring100 pc coverage of all farm operating families under KCC scheme.
It was also urged upon all participants to ensure timely sponsorship and early credit dispensation of cases during the current financial yearto achieve all the set targets, leading to generation of self-employment opportunities in the district.
On the occasion, Cluster Head J&K Bank Iftikhar Abdullah in response to various queries informed that thebank remained committed in effecting a total financial inclusion of the district andlinkage of all DBT receiving accounts with AADHAAR for receiving benefit (KNS)
