Budgam February 09:(KNS)   District Development Commissioner Budgam Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza
today chaired a meeting convened in New Conference Hall DC office Complex to review the
status of PMGSY roads in District. The aim and objective of meeting was to involve recently
elected representatives of DDCs and BDCs in plan formulation of PMGSY roads in District.
The meeting among others was also attended by DDC chairman Nazir Ahmad Khan, DDC
members, BDCs, CPO, XEN PMGSY and other concerned officials.
It is pertinent to mention here that just one day after administering oath to Chairman and vice
chairman DDC, the initiative to involve elected representatives actively in plan formulation kick
started in district. XEN PMGSY, apprised the chair that list of roads in all 17 blocks have been
identified for execution in upcoming financial year. The list of roads framed shall be forwarded
to DDCs and BDCs for inclusion or exclusion of roads if any, the XEN added.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza said that District Administration in
collaboration with District Development Council shall take the development scenario in district
to new level and for this all functionaries of the District have to work as team.
The chairman DDC appreciated the gesture of District Administration in conducting immediate
meeting with elected representatives in connection with plan formulation of PMGSY roads. The
chairman DDC emphasized upon need of macadamized roads in rural areas and hailed the
initiative of plan formulation which eventually will involve elected representatives as active
participants thus ensuring grass root democracy.(KNS)
