Baramulla, May 26(KNS): District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by various concerned officers today inspects several ongoing developmental projects of the district where he took appraisal of pace and position of the work.
DDC inspects Polytechnic College, located in Kanispora Baramulla and took review of pace and position of its work including land filling and other minor works.
The college is in its final phase of completion and shall be well equipped with modern and advanced facilities .DDC directed the concerned authorities to ramp up the pace of work so that the college is completed as early as possible and is made functional for educational purposes.
Dr Itoo also paid visit to Govt Medical College Baramulla where Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Masood briefed him about the status and position of the finishing work on the said college. DDC stressed upon mobilising additional men and machinery so that remaining work is completed within stipulated time frame.

Moreover, DC also inspects various other ongoing developmental projects during which he directed to accelerate the pace of work and exhorted to keep in consideration the related health advisories especially maintaining social distancing and using safety gears. He said that a proper mechanism has been formulated wherein special magistrates have been appointed to supervise the initiation of developmental works during the present circumstances of COVID-19 outbreak.

Later, the DC inspects several locations of main market Baramulla in order to take review of the implementation of various COVID-19 related advisories especially observing lockdown and other related guidelines.
On the occasion, DC sealed about 30 shops for violating the prohibitory orders and warned of strict legal against those indulging in lockdown violations. He also rebuked some persons for not using face masks and warned them to use the same failing which shall render legal action against the violators.

Moreover, DC expressed gratitude of the people for cooperating with the administration in observing lockdown and appealed them to follow all the requisite norms and guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic so that the risk is mitigated.(KNS)
