DDC B'la Inspects Several Developmental Projects; Reviews their Pace, Position

Baramulla, June 03(KNS): With an aim to get the first hand appraisal of various ongoing developmental projects in the wake of present circumustances arised due to COVID-19 lockdown, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by Director Tecchnical Education Sajad Hussain Ganaie and other concerned officers today inspects several developmental works where he took review of their pace and position.

DDC inspects the finishing work on Govt Polytechnic Collegework being carried out an estimated cost of Rs 3.32 Crore and took review of its pace and position. The college is in its final phase of completion and shall be well equipped with modern and advanced facilities which includes Modern Cafteria, Language Block and other recreational facilities. DDC directed the concerned authorities to ramp up the pace of work so that the college is completed as early as possible and is made functional for educational purposes.
Dr Itoo also paid visit to Govt Degree College for Women Baramulla to inspect the construction work on Science Block that is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore. He also took appraisal of construction and upgradation work respectively on conference hall and science labs that are being competed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore. DDC stressed for productive utilization of available resource besides emphasized for mobilising additional men and machinery to achieve the target within fixed timeframe.

Moreover, DC also inspects various other ongoing developmental projects which includes SRTC bridge at Fish Market Baramulla, being constructed at a cost of Rs 5.25 Crore under langusihing projects, patching work on National Highway and other works being taken by different executing agencies during which he directed to accelerate the pace of work and exhorted to keep in consideration the related health advisories especially maintaining social distancing and using safety gears. He said that a proper mechanism has been formulated wherein special magistrates have been appointed to supervise the initiation of developmental works during the present circumstances of COVID-19 outbreak.(KNS)
