ANANTNAG, JANUARY 28:(KNS)  The District Development Commissioner, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting of officers from Forest and RDD departments to review the performance  of these departments.

The meeting was informed by DFO Lidder Division that FRCs stand constituted at village and Block levels and thorough training has been imparted to Range Officers & BDO’s by master trainers to apprise them about all provisions of Forest Rights Act.

On the occasion, Garg directed the concerned officers to ensure proper training of all the stakeholders including FRCs at the lowest level so that they are educated about all aspects of FRA for its smooth implementation in the district. He focussed on identification and establishment of Community Rights in the first phase while ensuring adequate representation of STs and women at every level. He also directed the constitution of Village Plantation Committees and timely resolution of Rights & Land Disputes.

While sharing the details of the achievements made under MGNREGA, the ACD said that under MGNREGA, 2846 works stand physically completed while 495 works have been completed financially.

He added 25 lakh mandays have been generated with a financial implication of Rs. 136.95 cr.

Meanwhile,   DDC also took a comprehensive review of the progress on various schemes of Rural Development Sector including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), MGNREGA & Job Card alongwth Aadhaar seeding and other schemes. Other issues like percentage of works completed, new targets, financial performance under MGNREGA, financial progress report under B2V3 programme were also discussed and appropriate directions were issued for smooth implementation and completion of targets in stipulated time in each scheme.

The DDC directed the Xen REW and BDO’s to prepare and upload all bills for completed works. While stressing on timely payments, he directed the concerned to hasten the process to prevent spillover of works in untimely payments. Moreover, officers were directed to speed up construction work of new Panchayat Bhawans and works taken up under 14th FC & MGNREGA convergence.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC(G), DFO Lidder, DFO Social Forestry, ACD, Exen REW and all BDO’s.(KNS)
