Srinagar September 22:(KNS) To take a firsthand assessment of involved concerns and issues, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Tuesday visited the Parimpora Bus Stand.

During the visit, the DC also convened a meeting holding extensive discussions on involved issues with stakeholders of the bus stand.

Senior officers from concerned departments including SDA, R&B, Revenue and SMC were all present on the occasion. RTO Kashmir and Collector Land Acquisition were also present.

The DC directed the concerned departments to submit plans for earliest redressal of issues as involved. The plans the departments will submit will be based on requirement of transporters, shopkeepers and vendors.

It was stressed and informed that convenience to commuters will form an important of the plan the departments concerned have been asked to prepare for development of the bus stand.

Some of the other issues highlighted and discussed on the occasion included the need for macadamisation, drainage, lighting and cleanliness of the bus stand.

Construction of a bus terminal inside the bus stand was also raised and discussed with concerned stakeholders on the occasion.

The DC directed all concerned to submit respective proposals with estimates as soon as possible. He said the district administration is keen on resolving all issues of the bus stand and its development as per modern standards.

Meanwhile the Srinagar Development Authority has been directed to remove the encroachment of the Bus Stand road illegally occupied by workshop owners and vendors.(KNS)
