Shopian August 31, (KNS) - Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin and Regional Director Survey and Land Records (Maraz) Anantnag, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shah, today review the progress of digitization of land records and functioning of the department.

DC directed the concerned officers to complete the digitization of all the Jamabandies before the initiation of new measurement process. He asked them to work extraordinarily so that the same is accomplished before the initiation of land measurement.

DC asked the concerned to correlate the quantam of each measured field with the official records so that no dichotomy creeps into the newly created records. He maintained that the results of this process are highly scientific and accurate. Therefore the records created thus are more reliable and would have greater utility.

Dr Hafeez urged upon all the concerned to complete the process of making of Jamabandies by September this year so that their digitization is taken in hand forthwith.

He further asked them to expunge all the illegal entries from the revenue records besides accelerating the process of eviction from kahcharai/state land.

DC also exhorted upon them to work for getting the images and details of all the water bodies in their respective areas as per GoI guidelines by using the already provided gadgets to them. He revealed that same is necessary to preserve and protect them for posterity.

During the meeting, ACR Shopian gave a detailed presentation and highlighted the progress achieved in writing of Jamabandies, scanning and digitization process.

The Regional Director directed all the Tehsildars and others concerned to expedite the process of writing of Jamabandies to complete the process within the stipulated time.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Tehsildars besides other officers and officials of the department.(KNS)
