DC Kupwara reviews progress of Rapid Sampling


Kupwara August 11:(KNS) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of Health Officers to review the progress of Rapid Sampling for COVID-19 containment in the district.

The DC on the occasion directed the concerned Medical Officers to intensify the sampling for COVID-19 and ensure that all employees, service providers engaged in immunization programme undergo rapid testing.

He said that 50 tests in each block should be done on daily basis and directed the concerned that the sampling should be done on all 7 days of the week, in spite of holidays and Sundays.

The DC stressed upon them to prioritize the collection of samples from Red Zone areas and symptomatic patients to prevent spread of the pandemic virus besides, he asked them to synchronize the collected sampling data with Divisional Control Room on daily basis for appropriate information.

The DC also directed the concerned to de-notify any Red Zone area if no instance of positive case is found during last 21 days and it was informed that as many as 17 Red Zone areas are active in the district.

While giving on spot directions to resolve the confronting issues projected by Chief Medical Officer and concerned Block Medical Officers, the DC directed CMO to provide 25 beds to PHC Sogam and 25 beds to PHC Kralpora.

The CMO was also directed to conduct rapid sampling of 150 personnel at District Police Lines Kupwara who are participating in the upcoming Independence Day parade.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir and SDM Sogam were present in the meeting.(KNS)
