DC Kupwara chairs revenue officers meet

Kupwara June 27:(KNS) Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Ansul Garg today asked Revenue Officers to gear up their men and machinery for timely issuance of domicile certificates within their respective jurisdiction in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers to put added efforts for issuance of domicile certificates among concerned eligible beneficiaries, adding that the people would approach them (Revenue offices) for issuance of Domicile Certificates in view of advertisement of class IV posts by Service Selection Board.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Revenue Officers to intensify the anti encroachment drive across the district and strictly adhere to the directions issued by Government in this regard.
He stressed upon the need for demolishing of every kind of encroachment in rural as well as urban areas of the district and asked them to retrieve state land and kahchari land from the encroachers.
The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of scanning of revenue records and was informed that 10,000 pages have been scanned so for, while as work of scanning of revenue record is in full swing across the district, he directed officers to speed up the work and ensure timely completion.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Tehsildars to keep vigil on the pace of development works going on in their respective jurisdictions and also check the quality of material being used in roads and buildings
Among others all Revenue Officers of the district including Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Sub Divisional Magistrate Lolab and all Tehsildars and Niab Tehsildars of the district attended the meeting.
In another meeting the DC Kupwara reviewed the progress of execution work of Community bunkers in border Machil and Keran tehsils of Kupwara district.
He was informed that 50 community bunkers, 30 in Machil and 20 in Keran tehsils are being constructed for the safety of the border people and besides work is apace on 10 bunkers in Machil and 7 bunkers in keran area of Kupwara district.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned executing agencies to speed up the construction of community bunkers in these areas and gave them a time line of July 31 for completion of all 50 community bunkers in these areas.
He asked officers that he will personally visit Machil and Keran areas in the first week of July to review the pace of progress of bunkers and development scenario of these border areas.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer, R&B, Block Development Officers of Machil and Keran, DIO and other concerned officers.(KNS)
