Stresses upon proactive role by Line Departments and Banks in handholding Beneficiaries

Budgam, July 03:(KNS) The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, who is also Chairman of DLRC Budgam today, presided over 71th District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting at New Conference Hall Budgam. Among others, the meeting was also attended by GM DIC, Dr. Mohd Ashraf, CPO, CMO, DIO, Convener, Lead District Manager, Miyan Farhat Manzoor, Director RSETI, Budgam Tahira Parveen, DDM NABARD, Junaid Hakeem, officers of line departments and representative of banks operating in the district. While welcoming the participants, Lead District Manager Budgam Miyan Farhat Manzoor presented the overall performance of all banks and line departments of the district for ending quarter March 2020. Lead District Manager said that banks up to the ending quarter March 2020, have disbursed an amount of Rs. 1283 crores out of which Rs.779 crores and Rs.504 crores have been disbursed under priority and non-priority sectors respectively. The Officer said the district has recorded a CD ratio of 90.50 percent for the FY 2019-20, terming it as best ratio across the Jammu and Kashmir. It was informed that of the annual District Credit Plan of Rs. 1328 crores, Rs.1283 crores were disbursed in priority and non-priority sectors, thus achieving overall 96.62% of the set target. It was also given out in the meeting that banking sector has conducted BLBC meetings in all seventeen blocks, wherein representatives of all banks and departments discussed, and reviewed sponsoring of cases under various schemes launched by the Government. Regarding RSETI, it was informed that 19 awareness financial literacy camps were held across the district during ending quarter March 2019-20. The chairperson DLRC/DCC Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, while observing the performance and progress emphasized on priority sector lending particularly under key sectors of agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, handloom and education and stressed on underperforming banks to do more in lending. The chairman instructed that since Government has eased some of the lockdown restrictions related to COVID-19 Pandemic, the Line departments shall coordinate with banks more effectively for better performances, simultaneously creating massive awareness and enhancement of sponsoring of cases particularly under priority sector. The chairman also stressed on reconciliation between banks and line departments in addition he laid emphasis on speedy disposal of pending cases. The DC instructed line departments to review and revisit rejected cases so that these cases are again responsored if found viable. Lead Distrct Manager Budgam assured the Chairman DLRC/DCC that every sphere and segment of population and business activity will be taken care of with a better systematic and prompt approach. She said that all stake holders will work for the upliftment of underprivileged, unemployed youth, skilled and unskilled men and women, students and the general public of the district.(KNS)
