DC Bandipora takes stock of implementation of Covid-19 advisories

BANDIPORA, MAY 27 (KNS) : Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, today, inspected several locations of main market Bandipora in order to take stock of the implementation of various COVID-19 related advisories.

According to an order, issued by the district administration on May 25, the business establishments have been classified in two categories –Essential-I and Essential-II. Under Essential-I category, shops including medical, bakery, milk, vegetable, fruit, meat and poultry will remain open daily from 9 am to 5 pm while the shops coming under Essential-II category will remain open on alternate days to avoid rush in the market and on Sunday all the shops will remain closed.

The order further states that tea stalls, eateries, restaurants will operate kitchens only for home delivery of food items while barbers and saloons will continue to remain closed.

On the occasion, DC advised shopkeepers to resume their business as per the given guidelines and take precautions for their own safety and safety of customers. He urged the people to use masks and maintain social distancing while coming out for making purchases in the markets.

Meanwhile, DC urged upon the officers of the banks to increase counters inside the banks to avoid rush of people and also appealed the people to strictly follow social distancing.

The DC expressed gratitude of the people for cooperating with the administration in observing lockdown and following other guidelines. He said due to the support of the people, the district administration has been able to successfully fight the corona virus pandemic. Cautioning people, he said, a small mistake can again put us in trouble and hence need is work together to defeat this virus, he added. (KNS)
