DC Bandipora chairs DLRCC meeting


Bandipora, August 20:(KNS0 An amount of Rs 524.46 Cr, constituting 77 percent of the total annual credit plan of the year has been utilized upto the quarter that ended March 2020.

This was revealed at the District Level Review cum Consultative Committee (DLRCC) meeting, held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad here today.

The Meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Lead District Manager, Mehraj ud Din Naqash, District Development Manager NABARD, Asif Bhat, Representative, RBI Ashok Kumar; District Coordinators of various Financial Institutions and Officers from Line Departments were present in the meeting.

Lead District Manager Bandipora Mr. Mehrajuddin Naqash informed the house that all banks operating in the District have extended credit aggregating to an amount of Rs.340.61 crores under Priority Sector and Rs.183.85 crores under Non- Priority sector aggregating to total credit of Rs.524.46 crores thereby registering an achievement of 59.41% in Priority sector, 177.29% in Non-Priority sector and 77% in total Annual Credit Plan up to March 31, 2020.

It was given out that J & K Bank alone has disbursed Rs.439.01 crores which amounts to 126% of the total credit disbursed by all banks operating in the District during the Quarter ending March 2020.

Besides reviewing the performance of Banks and Govt. departments under various Schemes, DC Bandipora directed for speedy disposal of Govt. Sponsored cases.

He stressed upon the Bankers and the Line Departments to work in tandem to get the best results at ground level. He also enjoined upon them to launch a vigorous awareness campaign, especially in rural and far-flung areas of the district to sensitize them about various schemes in collaboration with concerned departments to increase the credit flow in various sectors so that the poor people, who otherwise have less exposure and access, could be benefited. He emphasized upon the banks to increase the lending in agriculture, horticulture and allied activities to generate more employment opportunities in the district.(KNS)
