Baramulla, September 25 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting of concerned officers at Dak Bungalow to review various measures for the smooth conduct of 7th economic census. The meeting also took an appraisal of the progress of already covered areas of the district.

Meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning,DSO, SDMs, Tehsildars, Executive officers among other concerned functionaries.

On the ocassion, various matters pertaining to the smooth conduct of 7th economic census, were thoroughly discussed wherein the DC deliberated upon the concerned agencies to work in cohesion and cooperation so that the process is executed smoothly.

Highlighting the importance and role of economic census, DC directed the concerned officers to disseminate awareness and include it in next block divas and ongoing jan abhiyan programme so that people at the grass root level are educated properly. He also directed the Executive Officers to cooperate in executing the said census in their respective municipalities.

DC, who is also the chairman of DLCC also stressed to involve sarpanchs in this process besides directing to establish aadhar enrollment centres so that all the left outs are registered. He also informed that a special drive shall be conducted so that 100% in aadhar registration is acheived.(KNS)
