Dastardly Act of assassination of Wasim Bari and his Family: G L Raina

Jammu, July 09 (KNS): in a press statement to KNS former BJP MLC G L Raina on thrusday said, Sheikh Wasim Bari a senior leader of Bhartiya Janata Party from Bandipora Kashmir has been gunned down by t militants in a reprehensible act on 8th July 2020 at his residence along with his brother Umar Sultan and father Bashir Ahmad Bari.
It is very dismaying and painful. Wasim Bari was a Young courageous enthusiastic and hardworking political activist and was Ex- president of BJP in the District. He was State Executive member of the party and was highly respected and loved by one and all. Nationalist to the core, He worked for the people of his area with love devotion and dedication. His life was transparent and devoid of any pretence or double standards so typical to politics in Kashmir. He represents the silent majority in Kashmir. I condemn this deceitful act of cowardice. It reflects frustration of Pakistan and its stooges in Kashmir. Militants have completely failed in misleading people and are therefore silencing the voices of sanity and probity. This treacherous act of mindless violence will fail to deter common people from rising against perpetrators of death and destruction.
Brutal murder of Wasim Bari and his family has once again exposed lacuna in police training. That around 8 personal security guards were caught unawares reflects lack of proficiency, professionalism and preparedness of our security personnel. It is high time that higher ups in J&K Police revisit the entire policing mechanism and implement recommendations of experts in this regard.
Sacrifice of Late Wasim Bari, His Father Bashir Ahmad and Brother Umar sultan will not go waste. Silent majority that remains indifferent with a hope that good sense will prevail upon merchants of death sponsored by forces hostile to peace and prosperity will have to come out in open to not only denounce these cowardly acts of stabbing in back, but will have to rise in revolt against militants and their sponsors.
