Handwara, July 17 (KNS): District administration Kupwara on Tuesday have re-imposed lockdown after a sharp rise in the covid positive cases in the district.
The administration have ordered that all the shops, business units will remain closed. There will be no public transport allowed to play on the roads. The shopkeepers have expressed the anger for not allowing them to open the shops. The lockdown has badly affected the daily life of the shopkeepers and other business units.
However the additional district magistrate Handwara, Nazir Ah, told KNS, we have issued an order today that the shopkeepers will be allowed to open shops, but before opening business units, they have to go for Covid sampling first
In case of clearance the shopkeepers will be permitted to open their business units alternatively from Monday to Friday. We are also requesting shopkeepers to ensure proper implementation of government guidelines and SOP, he said.
While talking, to senior Shopkeeper of Kralgund Qaziabad, Fayaz Ahamd, he said to KNS, that we welcome the step and we are ready for Covid sampling. He also said that this alternative wont help us in long run. A shopkeeper may come into a contact with a customer, who might have got exposed to Covid 19, because its not possible for us to identify who is positive and who not. We are requesting administration to find a strong alternative, he said.(KNS)
