Srinagar, June 27 (KNS): The Covid 19 management team of Mawer Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara District on Saturday expressed strong antipathy over the lack of support from the local administration.
According to statement issued to KNS said, to access the situation on ground & on directions of district administration Covid19 management team Mawer at block headquarter Qalamabad to discuss the importance issues related to covid. The meeting was headed by Chairman covid team Tahir Ahmad, representatives from Health department, revenue department, education department, religious heads & prominent citizens.

Tahir Ahmad started the meeting & put forward the agenda of the meeting.

Molvi Mohd Ashraf put forward the Islamic view point that we should follow SOPs & religious heads from every masjid should take a lead in it.

Mohsin Ahsan from Education department put forward his view point that community classes should be made successful & wanted support at panchayat level. All members appreciated the move & urged to start community classes as per SOP norms .

Malik Aashiq a prominent citizen & member of the group appreciated the role of team in handling the situation & support at every level but also raises questions about the lapses from the system. He questions why result of 16 samples is awaited since May 29 from Teerina & lack of support from Tehsildar when covid positive cases came from Qalamabad. Inspite of repeated calls to Tehsildar & NT no one came to Jkb Qalamabad quarantine or close of bank as the patients have visited the bank a day before, instead NT questions the capacity of Chairman on phone why should he come..? On ground there is no co-operation from Tehsil administration.

Representative from Revenue Mohd Syed briefly discussed the situation & complains that his department doesn’t provide him any protective equipment, whenever he visited any covid positive place.

At the end of the meeting chairman assured all members that all grievance will be redressed & will take issue with higher authorities. Follow SOPs , aware public & reach every place, it said (KNS)
