Srinagar, June 01 (KNS): District Administration Shopian in collaboration with District Health Services Shopian organised a drive through covid-19 sampling for journalists working in district shopian, here at Government Girls Higher Secondery School Shopian Better arrangements were put in place for collecting the samples. As many as 10 samples have been collected by the doctors from the journilists , in addition pregnant women and shopkeepers and the doctors wére fully equipped.

Deputy Comissioner Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, said that the initiative has been taken for the safety of the journalists who are working on frontline in this pandemic, by creating awarness among the people through print and electronic media as reporting on Covid 19 is challenging and unprecedented. Journalists and media person are required to leave their home to report in difficult circumstances. The journalists, who may be more vulnerable to contracting Covid19 are advised to implement a set of safety guidelines issued by WHO. He also said that we hope that the journalists will work with zeal and dediction so that the masses will get better awareness about the do's and dont's of the pandemic so that the risk of deadly infection will be mitigated.

On the occasion, journalists present thanked the district administration for organizing the safety measures for journalists and assured that they will work shoulder to shoulder with the administration.(KNS)
