COVID-19 preventive kits distributed among economically backward people


12th September 12:(KNS) We The Human Forum for Nature and Mankind, today, distributed 100 COVID Hygiene kits and 200 plants of Pongamia, Indian Gooseberry and other indigenous varieties, as part of its on going COVID19 Prevention and Plantation Drive programs, among farmers in Village Sujana & Raghuchack near Rajpura, Samba. Among others, prominent environment Captain Lalit Sharma Vice Chairman of the trust, Dr Sugandha Dental Surgeon member of We The Human, founder member of the trust Kumar Vivek Shahi, Sarpanch Parshottam Lal & Lamberdar Tirath Ram from village Sujana and Vikas Sharma, Yudhvir Singh from Nature Bio Foods and a number of farmers were present on the occasion. Few indigenous varieties of trees like Pongamia, Amla, Mulberry & medicinal trees were planted, on spot, in the community land and about two hundred plants were distributed among farmers of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Captain Lalit Sharma Vice Chairman of Executive Body of We The Human informed that the trust has initiated COVID19 Hygiene Abhiyan for economically deprived community of society. Under the activity trust is distributing COVID-19 hygienic kits among poor villagers and spreading mass awareness about precautionary measures to manage the spread of COVID-19 virus. Trust has taken responsibility to plant more than 2000 saplings of indigenous varieties this year to conserve natural bio diversity. We The Human teams have done plantations in different areas including far & flung areas of Doda, Udhampur, Jammu and Samba districts. "We The Human" being a multifaceted organization shall with continue its relentless efforts to launch campaign against single use plastics, air pollution including stubble burning, excessive usage of hazardous chemical fertilizers/ pesticides, food adulteration, use of drugs in our society, empowerment of women and farmers. Our environment is denuded badly with over exploitation of natural resources. Today's pandemic is also result of human follies and if lessons not learnt by governments all over India, more dangerous times are forecasted. Humans especially governments all over the world has to change its half hearted approach towards restoration of losses made to mother Nature. All among us have to think about sustainable growth & development and a full stop is needed for all unsustainable projects including polluting industries.
Lalit Sharma also asked farmers to use and promote local language, traditional culture, nature and natural resources. He gave five tips to farmers viz., open shoes outside living area, wash hands with soap properly, use mask while going outside, maintain social distancing and use warm water daily. Young dentist Dr. Sugandha, briefed the farmers about teeth cleaning and hygiene methods to all villagers. She explained that proper and two times brushing is very essential to maintain mouth hygiene and gums healthy.
Kumar Vivek Shahi, founder member of the trust and regional manager Bio Nature Foods said that trust has playing a life changing role in grassroots community during COVID19 pandemic. He explained that organic farming is the need of time and we have responsibility to conserve natural resources and traditional farming system by minimising synthetic chemicals use. He also explained the organic method of prevention of paddy fungal disease. "We The Human" teams distributed around 150 qtl ration among 2000 families of labourers and poor people and also distributed around 2000 COVID Hygiene kits in different areas of Jammu, Samba, Udhampur, Kathua and Doda districts. The trust is also making efforts for empowerment of rural womenfolk and farmers.(KNS)
