Covid-19 pandemic: Soz hails Dr. David Nabaroo

Srinagar 09 May 2020 (KNS):“Dr. David Nabaroo, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the fight against the Covid-19, seems to have rightly alerted the world, especially, India that the people would have to live with the dangerous Corona virus before a vaccine has been found. He asserted that the needed vaccine for the virus would not be available before 12 to 18 months from now.
So, the way out is through a series of methods to improve social and personal hygiene.
The J&K State could readily accept Kerela as the role model where the virus is almost getting ‘Non-Existent’. It has just a dozen cases to handle.
On this occasion, I want to make two specific suggestions.
One, we must accept the social distancing and other methods of hygiene to remain safe and; the other important thing is that the society must help the working class which has been rendered unemployed.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory administration must invite representatives of all social organizations in J&K State for a thorough discussion on how to fight Coronavirus and how best to reach the down-trodden section of the society during these difficult times.
I propose that the J&K Muslim Auqaf Trust and J&K Auqaf-e-Islamia should extend support to the J&K Govt. to serve the society better.
On its part, the J&K Govt. must seek the support of the two organizations to reach the needy, in a better way.”(KNS)
