COVID-19:DC reviews COVID Care Management Facilities in Kupwara

Kupwara, June 10 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of health care facilities with special focus on sampling and treatment of COVID-19 and non-Covid patients in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed CMO to make Dialysis Centre functional at new IPD block SDH Kupwara from June 15 for Dialysis patients with 2 shifts in a week after proper fumigation. He also gave June 22 as deadline for making Sub District Hospital Kupwara (situated in Kupwara Town) fully functional for non COVID patients. He also directed to keep 50 bedded Old IPD block reserved for emergency cases and 20 bedded AMT school exclusive for pregnant ladies.
The meeting was informed that 1200 samples of pregnant ladies, whose expected date is up to June 30, have been collected; of which 28 cases found COVID positive. While as sampling of pregnant ladies whose expected date is upto July 31 shall be started from next week. The meeting was informed that 3 surgical operations of COVID positive pregnant ladies were done at COVID Hospital Kupwara.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to ensure blood testing for COVID examination of all vulnerable categories including old aged persons, diabetic, kidney and hypertensive patients in all red zones. For this, the DC asked for issuing scheduled notification 2 days earlier with information to concerned Tehsildar and SHO and ensure the sampling of all such vulnerable persons within a week.
The Deputy Commissioner also sought information regarding contact tracing of one Covid positive case from Lolab and was informed 50 persons have been tested so far, of which, 9 have been detected positive. The contact tracing of BSF personnel (traveller) and a police personnel was also completed.
Reviewing the COVID Care Facility management in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned that the Quarantine Centre at Wayan and JNV Potushai are functioning smoothly.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kounser Amin, District Health Officer & Nodal Officer COVID, Ab Gani Dar, District Information Officer Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir and other concerned were present in the meeting.
