Move Aims at Scaling up Anti-Corana Activities: Director ULBK

Baramulla, April 08 (KNS): In a significant move to scale up the activities in order to control the spread of deadly Coronavirus, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo along with Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Reyaz Ahmad Wani today installs Decontamination/sanitation tunnel in the isolation/quarantine centre of Government Medical College Baramulla. The facility has been procured by Baramulla Municipal Council which aims at renewing the efforts to combat the spread of the virus.

President Muncipal council baramulla Umar Azhar kakroo,Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital Baramulla Dr Syed Masood, Chief Executive Officer MC Baramulla Wali Muhammad and various other concerned officers/officals were present on the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, on the occasion expressed gratitude of ULB authorities and said that district administration has also taken various initiatives which aims at checking the spread of Coronavirus. He appealed people to adopt all the requisite guidelines and cooperate with the administration in this regard. Moreover, he informed that fumigation cum sanitation drives have already been launched in several locations of the district which aimed at maintaining cleanliness in the surrounding for averting any kind of eventuality.

Speaking after installing the tunnel, the Director highlighted its significance and said that such a facility shall help in maintaining sanitization thereby mitigating the risk of COVID-19 spread. He said that ULB have initiated various anti-corona initiatives such as fumigation and cleanliness drives, enforcement of lockdown, implementation of related SoPs so that the people at large are protected from this deadly virus. He also assured every possible support from his part and said that our functionaries shall remain at the forefront in combating COVID-19.(KNS)
