COVID-19: Retired Srinagar doctor dies at JVC, toll reaches to 54


Srinagar, June 13 (KNS): With the death of a retired doctor from Parray Pora area of Srinagar who was tested positive for Covid-19 died at JVC Bemina during the intervening night on Friday and Saturday, the death toll reaches 54.
A doctor at JVC Bemina told KNS, that a 74 -year old retired doctor from Srinagar died at the hospital.
The doctor was tested positive for Covid-19 few days before and was admitted at JVC on June 2.
" The patient was intubated and out put on Ventilator .The Consultant and SR Critical Care were on spot managing the patient who could not survive despite all efforts.He was a known case of COPD and had severe ARDS.Died of Cardiopulmonary arrest at 1.00 am.His repeat Covid test came negative on 12 th June.," Doctors told KNS.
With this death, the fatalities due to the Covid 19 infection have reached to 13 in Srinagar, followed by Baramulla ten, Kulgam eight, Anantnag six, three each in Shopian, Kupwara and Jammu, two each in Pulwama and Budgam while one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Doda, Udhampur and Rajouri( KNS)
