Srinagar, June 04 (KNS): Following mass promotion orders to different courses on internal assessment basis by Kashmir University, the BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) students in Kashmir have demanded the same procedure for them.

A group of 2nd Semester BUMS students have said that excluding them from the mass promotion orders on the basis of internal assessments by Kashmir University, is the matter of grave concern.

They said that authorities left them in a deep shock, as they were not included in the said order, neither the notice regarding their examination was issued.

"We have suffered equally like students of other courses and have faced the same problems since 5 August 2019. It is quite difficult for us to attend online classes as distance learning of Education is not stable for professional courses, but even after that when we started giving online classes, but the speed of internet continued to be slow, due to which we face inconveniences," a student said, adding they can't hear the sound of professors clearly while giving the classes online.

The aggrieved students of UG BUMS 2nd year batch 2017-18 further said that they feel exasperated and emotionally crippled due to the muteness and reluctance of Kashmir University administration.

They demanded that authorities should comply with the UGC guidelines, and should promote the UG BUMS 2nd year students to next semester.

"We have already given the internal examination of 2nd year and VIVA of Kashmir University which comprise around 50 % weight age of whole examination. Now, authorities should promote us to next semester like other courses," students demanded. (KNS)
