Councilor injured in Sopore attack succumbs , death toll reaches 3

Srinagar March, 30 (KNS): Muncipal Councilor injured in militant attack in Sopore on Monday succumbed to his injuries in the night intervening Monday and Tuesday at SMHS hospital Srinagar and with his death the death toll in Monday's militant attack at Sopore has mounted to three.

 

Officials said Shams-ud-din Peer injured on Monday this week in a militant attack on municipal councilors in north Kashmir’s Sopore town, succumbed to his injuries at SMHS hospital Srinagar.

 

It may be mentioned here that a municipal councillor and a personal security officer (PSO) were killed when militants attacked the meeting room of Municipal Council Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district . The slain councillor has been identified as Riyaz Ahmad Pir. 

 

The IGP Kashmir has already directed SP Sopore to place under suspension the four PSOs for not showing retaliation to the attack that has now resulted in the killing of two councilors and a PSO.(KNS)
