Uri August 26:(KNS) Scores of contractual employees working with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme in Boniyar Block of Sub Division Uri today staged a Pan Down protest demanding regularization of their jobs.
The protest was held in Boniyar Block of Sub Division Uri during which the protesters, hailing from Boniyar, Norkhah and Bijhama blocks, raised slogans against the “callous approach” of the government towards them.
“We are working in the Rural Development Department (RDD) for the last 13 years we have also done work 14th FC, CDF, Back to Village, SBM, Election and have been completely neglected by the government. The authorities are yet to regularize our services and provide us equal pay for equal work,” said Imran Ahmed Banday.

He said that we have been working in MGNREGA with full dedication for years on a meager honorarium that is not enough to support their families.
BDC chairmans and all sarpanchs and panchs of Sub Division Uri support them and they requested Government of India fullfill the genuine demands of the employees of MGNREGA as soon as possible(KNS)
