Srinagar June 8, (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) today strongly condemned the gruesome killing of Party Sarpanch Ajay Bharti by unidentified gunmen in Anantnag District and demanded stern action against the killers.
In a statement issued to KNS, the Party described the killing of Ajay Bharti as mindless and shameful act and demanded exemplary punishment against those behind the killing of Bharti.
Expressing anguish over the attack on Party Sarpanch Ajay Bharti leading to his death in Anantnag, the JKPCC has strongly condemned the killing, describing it mindless and shameful act on the part of killers.
The party has demanded judicial enquiry into the killing of Ajay Bharti to fix responsibility.
The deceased Ajay Bharti apprehending attack on his life had written to Govt for security cover, which was reportedly denied to him. As a result Bharti lost his life in a gruesome attack, PCC said.
JKPCC described the killing of Ajay Bharti as a big loss to Congress Party and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved family.
The Party has demanded adequate security cover to Panchs, Sarpanchs, BDC Chairmen and other leaders to ensure safety of their lives and family. (KNS)
