G.A. Mir congratulates Corporators over following Party whip



Srinagar June 16 (KNS): J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday hailed the Party Corporators for staying away from no confidence motion.
According to statement issued to KNS, JKPCC President G.A.Mir congratulated Party Corporators over following the Party Whip in both letter and spirit and said that they (Corporators) have once again exhibited their unshakable faith & resolve to remain with the secular character of the Party, which is the only unifying force in the country and in J&K.
The Party has issued a whip to 16 INC Corporators in Srinagar Municipal Corporation asking them to stay away from no confidence motion, which was followed in both letter and spirit by them except three, PCC said.
There were reports that two Corporators were forcibly taken away to attend no confidence motion in the Corporation, while they were on way to attend meeting with JKPCC President and other Senior Party Leaders.
However, thirteen Corporators remained present in meeting held under the Chairmanship of JKPCC President in Srinagar and vowed to further strengthen the Congress Party in Srinagar.
We will do our utmost to strengthen the hands of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and JKPCC President G. A. Mir and defeat the designs of BJP and other opportunist Parties, INC Corporators assured the meeting.
The INC Chief Whip in Srinagar Municipal Corporation also wrote to concerned authorities seeking disqualification of three Party Corporators, with immediate effect, JKPCC added.(KNS)
