Congress demands compensation to affected Fruit Growers, seeks supply of Pesticides on subsidized rates  

Srinagar May 4 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today expressed anguish over the losses caused to crops and orchards in North Kashmir & elsewhere due to recent hailstorm, urging the UT Administration to provide compensation to affected people.

In a Statement issued to KNS, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee(JKPCC) Vice President and Ex. MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar has expressed serious concern over the losses caused to  crops and orchards due to the recent hailstorm in North Kashmir especially in Sopore area of Baramulla District and urged the Divisional Administration to assess the losses for  providing compensation to the affected people
Amid ongoing lockdown, the financial condition of fruit growers and farmers has become very difficult, they were not even able to purchases pesticides and fertilizers, PCC Vice President said and urged the UT Administration that in wake of shutdown provide Pesticides to Fruit Growers, on subsidized rates
I would also emphasize the UT Administration to assess the losses for compensation to affected growers on priority, enabling them to be able to sustain their families, Haji Abdul Rashid added and sought immediate action on this front.(KNS)
