Congress observes martyrs day


Jammu, June 26, (KNS): Congress on Friday observed martyrs day “ Shaheedon Ko Slam Divas” to pay rich tributes to the twenty Jawans who sacrificed their lives in Galwan Valley in Ladakh on June 15 & 16 and expressed full support and solidarity with the brave armed forces of the Country.

As part of nationwide programme of AICC, senior leaders of JKPCC, District Committees. Frontal Wings of the party like Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and Cells and other senior leaders assembled at Shaheedi Smarak, Shaheedi Chowk Jammu in front of Congress HQ Jammu and paid rich floral tributes to the martyrs by lighting candles and placing flowers amidst raising slogans “ Shaheed Jawan Amar Rahen” Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and other patriotic slogans. After this, the leaders observed one hour silent sit in to express solidarity and full support to the armed forces and as a mark of respect to the martyrs.

In a statement issued to KNS raeds, the sit- in- dharna by Congress party was also to express silent anger over the different statements of the Centre Govt. over the issue of China’s continuous attempts of intrusions and excursions in Ladakh region and the treacherous mode of China, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said on the occasion.

The JKPCC fully endorsed the stand of INC over the questions raised by the top party leadership regarding the Prime Minister statement in all party meeting creating confusion over the stand of the Country regarding treacherous activities of China. |The party has said that Govt. should come out clear and take a firm stand over the issue, while declaring that every citizen is behind our armed forces and the government to deal with the Chinese mischiefs and misadventures.
