Committed for 'good governance', 'comprehensive development': LG Sinha


Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): Stating that good governance will be ensured in all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir without any discrimination, Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that his mission is to ensure comprehensive development in the UT.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), LG Sinha who was addressing a press conference in Raj Bhawan Srinagar said that Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will have seven tunnels that would be completed within a specific period of time process of tendering and other documentation has begun.
While announcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for farmers, he said 500 tractors will be provided to farmers on subsidized rates. He at the occasion threw light upon the achievements of the administration during back to village programs.
“I am stick on my commitment that I will ensure comprehensive development to all 20 districts of the UT without any discrimination”, he said.
He also spoke on 14.15 km long Zojila tunnel will be constructed with an amount of Rs 7000 crore which is 4000 crore less than the amount fixed for it earlier.
“The work on 14.15 kilometer long Zojila tunnel has been started today as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has virtually inaugurated the project. The tunnel will be constructed with an amount of Rs 7000 crore which is 4000 crore less than the amount fixed for it earlier”, LG said.
He also said that Government will not stop the development here, but more tunnels will come up in next two years. “Let me announce here that seven more tunnels will be constructed in Jammu and Kashmir in the next two years whose tendering process has been initiated”, LG said.
About the recent developmental initiatives and public grievance redressal system in villages through back to village pgoram-3, the LG Sinha said that the administration doesn’t believe in lip services on but doing work on ground. “Five lakh people participated at 285 locations in the BV-3 programs. Every panchayat has been given a sports kit. Dustbins has also been provided to each panchayat,” he said. He also said that 4.25 lakh domicile certificates have been distributed among people during the program.
The LG Sinha said that after back to villages, the government will start now “My town, My pride movement”. He also announced 500 tractors to farmers on subsidized rates. (KNS)
