Cluster University Students Demand Postpone of Internal Assignment Exams In Wake of Poor Internet Service

Srinagar, June 09, (KNS): Students of Cluster University on Tuesday demanded authorities to postpone examination of internal assignments till high internet speed restored in J&K, or else to provide an alternate like Zoom App so that students can ask queries to concern teachers.
Students while talking to KNS expressed disappointment over apathetic behavior of University authorities in wake of blanket ban on high-speed internet services across J&K. They said students are unable to get online Google classes and download required educational material due to poor internet services.
“University authorities gave us assignments via Google classes and asked us to submit the same within a stipulated period of time but how come it is possible to finish it when high-speed internet is out of bounds in J&K”, students said.
They said in most of the districts across Valley, students are unable to access internet due to unavoidable law and order circumstances.
“Most of the students have fallen short of money to load internet packs in their mobiles in wake of Covid-19 lockdown” students said.
They also said that the concern teachers are dispatching study material though online via “Google App” in Portable Document Format (PDF) which is unable to download due to poor internet services.
They alleged that University and College authorities have failed to address the genuine concern of students who even didn’t respond to their phone calls.
They added it is impossible for each and every student to get connected via Jio fiber and appealed University authorities to look into and address the concern of students at an earliest.
When KNS contacted Examination Controller CU Khursheed Ahmad, he said Google classes are continuously going on which witnessed gradual increase of students across. When asked about poor connectivity of internet services due to which students unable to get online study material, he directed students to contact concern college authorities with an hope to resolve the matter locally.
When asked how much time University will take for initiated the process of admission for third semester?, he said “after two or three days, admission link will be uploaded on the official website of the University”. (KNS)
