Srinagar, May 29 (KNS): Students of Under Graduate (UG) 2nd semester, forth semester of Cluster University on Friday appealed authorities to come clean over the proposal of mass promotion in wake of Covid-19 lockdown situation.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), students said that registrar of the university recently expressed that authorities are yet to decide about mass promotion or future course of action. They said due to uncertain situation students are facing mental stress as authorities are not clearing the air.
“We are unable to understand that for which semester we have to be prepared as Cluster University authorities have kept deep mum over future course of action”, students said, and added “The further silence from authorities will lead the students into trauma”.
Ateeb Bashir, a student told KNS that mental health of students in Kashmir is deteriorating due to uncertain situations and no one seems to be concerned about our future. Students aren’t machines who would respond to the inputs and demands of the university.
He said “University is meant for the students and not vice-versa but sadly opposite seems to be true. It is a two way process and genuine concerns and demands of students need to be taken on board, which in the present case reflect in the guidelines of the UGC”.
Students demanded that University must promote students in their present semesters on the basis of their internal assessments in order to give them a clear way ahead and hold offline classes for upcoming semesters whenever situation will normalize, otherwise, the chaos and confusion created in the minds of students will continue and it will have bad repercussions at a larger scale.
